Almost everywhere (on social media) you can see the ladies magnifying their beauty quotient by wearing Kaftans. This fashion trend ruling in this festive season now.

While kaftan is a single long piece but now this attire is in trend with pants, palazzo, and skirts. There are so many designs, prints in different types of clothes, the style you can pick for yourself for different occasions or for home wearing.

Designer Purva says the metamorphosis of kaftan from being comfortable clothing to joyous wear, has been a refreshing trend “During this festive season, people are styling kaftans with embroidery details. While this attire in the black hue in the rage, many are also teaming it up with dhoti skirts and dupattas to give a traditional touch“. she says.

Designers also do experiments with kaftans like different cuts, designs, sleeves, and silhouettes to give the outfit a festive feel. Different styles of kaftans are in the market, you just have to pick one and go out. Kaftan is wearable at all places like for grocery shopping, for home, for teacher-parents meetings, wedding parties, birthday parties, etc.

Designer Monisha jaisingh says “the extended longer side creates an asymmetrical hem length, making the dress super stylish and uplifting. It is the perfect outfit for festivals. You can also make your own look with kaftans.


Kaftans can be styled without fuss; however, one needs to pick a piece that does not look like wear at home outfit. It is an easy glamour to pick. Opting for the right fabric and color does the trick. Purva says, “My personal favorite is the one with neckline details of intricately done Kashmiri embroidery and that looks classy when wore during the festive time.”

Monisha suggests, “Kaftans and Kurtis paired with palazzos and dhotis make for the ultimate party look. Go for the colors like golden, burgundy, blue, green, shades of pink, white with floral pattern. Sequined kaftan with embroidery can also be a great pick, a classy belt can be a good addition.

The floral pattern and tie and dye look great.” Picking up luxury, long, elegant Kaftan for a party will be an eye-stopper. The best thing with kaftan you wear it with any types of heels like platform, wedges, stiletto, spool, chunky, even with sneakers.

Monisha says that ” georgette and silk kaftans with sequins can be paired with elegant earrings you can enhance the look by wearing jewelry and a belt. Match with a pair of jutis, strappy heels, stilettos and you are ready to rock the upcoming festivals”.

If you have an oversized kaftan then there is also a trick to make it look fit and stylish, Choose small purses and bags or clutches go well with it. it will give your harmony and balance with the dress. Few Kaftan has heavy embroidery and shininess. In that case, Do not use too much jewelry. That will be loudy. Small pearl earning would go best with heavy embroidery kaftans. You can upgrade your look with a subtle bracelet or necklace.
